Memory Cell

Out of all the radical movies Kamal has made, for me Aalavandhan sits proudly on top and his Nandhu is quite simply the most fearless of them all!
I found it tough to select one quote/lyric to accompany this piece, and there are plenty in the movie that stand out, especially the ones from the cell sequence...I picked one that almost always seems to stand out for its relevance !

Update:
Here's another brilliant verse from the movie...
Pennai nambi pirakkum bodhe thoppull kodigal arupadumae
Mannai nambum maaperum maramum seerum puyalil verarumay
Unnai nambum uruppugal kooda orupozhudunnai kaividumae
Ithil pennai mattum nambum nambagam pina naal varayil kaivarumo?

And my attempt at translating it with a rhyme structure of sorts:
Trusting a woman, you're born, your umbilical cord is severed
Trusting the soil,a storm uproots even the mighty oak, revered
Trusting your ties, your organs too would one dusk be severed
How then could trust in a woman alone seem to persevere?

Seagally speaking

He celebrates his 58th birthday today.
I guess I can count in one hand, the number of Steven Seagal movies I've watched and 2 of those are the Under Siege movies !

Osmentatious

He celebrates his 21st birthday today.
Although he is well known for The Sixth sense,I didnt quite like the movie that much. But I loved Spielberg's A.I and I thought Osment was sensational in it,delivering a heart wrenching performance.

Crowing about

He celebrates his 45th birthday today...
Though the Gladiator is one of my favorite movies I dont quite understand why people go gaga over Crowe.Personally I feel he has a very limited arsenal and employs it very annoyingly...the constant frown, the smile bordering on a smirk, the aussie accent ...and so I almost always see Crowe and not the character he is playing... As far as looks go I feel he resembles John Goodman, and if Goodman ever sheds all those pounds Crowe would become redundant ;)

Zachred Heart

Zach Braff as J.D,the central character from one of my favorite TV series,Scrubs. He celebrates his 34th birthday today...... For reasons unknown I used to stay away from Scrubs during the early seasons but over time its rapidly risen to the top of the list (barring Seinfeld and Frasier)... very few shows make me laugh out loud and Scrubs has enough zaniness, not to mention a super ensemble cast to reduce one to tears of laughter ! I also particularly like the fact that after 95 % laughs the last coupla minutes almost always leaves me with a lump in my throat and very few shows manage to do that to me... I also love the various guest appearances on the show from various big names, ofcourse my favorite being Michael J Fox's turn as a doc afflicted with OCD.... my favorite character though has to be Perry Cox :D !!!

Downeyright Stark

I am yet to catch the Iron Man movie... Downey kinda exudes this bad boy charm in most roles he plays.Hope I've captured that in this one... but my personal favorite of his happens to be his class act as Chaplin...
he celebrated his 44th birthday yesterday...

Murphy's draw

He celebrates his 48th birthday today. Can't say I'm a big fan but his features proved fun to exaggerate. My favorite film of his would have to be Holy man.
